Hi,
I'm trying to install eZ Publish. When the setup wizard reaches the Database section, i am presented with the Servername, the port, the username and the password. But where to put the database name? The documentation is silent about this...

I am trying to install on my computer. I'm on Mac. MAMP is doing the Apache/PHP activation. There are already some mySQL databases. I have succeeded to install easily Drupal, but eZ doesn't seem to be so eZ...

The database created for eZ is _ez.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Meanwhile, I have understood that the database choice will be presented after the Database first window, but, I can't go there. There is a fatal error before that.

I'm completely lost.

Is there any debug ouput on the Fatal error?
Or something in error.log? (var/log/)

Thank you for answering. I'm getting this:
[17-Apr-2009 08:46:11] PHP Fatal error: Class 'ezcBaseOptions' not found in /Users/vervilleguy/Documents/PagesWeb/ez/kernel/private/options/ezpextensionoptions.php on line 54

Thank you. I have read the installation guide for these components and it seems not to work for me. I'm perplexed about the overall process. eZ Publish is probably a great CMS environment and I was willing to test it before presenting it to a client, but the installation is very cumbersome and way out to be easy. Efforts should be made to make this installation process very smooth. We shouldn't have to get to a terminal to write cryptic lines [and receive further error messages above our knowledge].

There is (used to be?) on the site an install version you can download that contains the ezcomponents library, so the burden for the novice installer is eased.

As for the setup wizard, it is being improved all the time, with feedback from users like you.

hello,

" http://ezcomponents.org/docs/install " is the page explain how to install the components. I don't see anything else. I don't know why, but I get a pear not found. Maybe my MAMP isntallation is broken...

Wouldn't have just simplier to say "put those files on the subdirectory "x" and run the setup wizard? Since those components are now essential for eZPublish, why not just put them in the main file?
