eZ's templating system is a little complicated to understand at first, but very powerful once you begin to understand it. By the sounds of things you've changed the pagelayout.tpl and css files. That basically changes the layout of the outside of the site (in other words all of the site apart from the area where the main content is displayed). To et rid of the "Default object view. Click to create a custom template, Node ID: 2, Object ID: 1" just click on it and create an override template for that content type (possibly an article?). This could be quite an advanced change to how the content is displayed (rearranging the various parts of the content type for example, or not showing the author, or displaying the author's name at the bottom rather than under the title.
If you just want to display the content as it is at the moment and just get rid of the "Default object view. Click to create a custom template, Node ID: 2, Object ID: 1" text, then create an override template keeping the default template as a base, and then just delete that text/link from the template. Hope that helps, Tim
