global variable not visible in advancedsearch

Marko Žmak	Monday 16 October 2006 4:37:50 am I defined a global variable in pagelayout like this: {def $search_classes=''} {set scope='global' search_classes=hash( ... hash deifnition... ) } but when I try to use it in template for content/advancedsearch the variable is not available?
