Display content from only one section

How do I make a menu that only displays content from section 1?

I've tried using 

{section show=eq($DesignKeys:used.section,1)}

but it does show content from all sections until a folder from another section is "active".

I'm trying to modify the flat_left.tpl template in eZP 3.5.0
