I have run ez Publish on different versions (now 3.9.2) with the online editor (now 4.2.3) and with different upgrades of IE. Have also got used to the feature that IE ask me to run an active X-"program" before the textfields of the online editor will work.
Now I have encountered a new problem. Running on a newly upgraded IE8 the online editor does not allow me to use the buttons, like add attachment or line in a table. When doing so it returns to the previous version of the page without my changes.
Is anybody familiar with this problem and know a solution?

I have the same IE8 problem.Inserting items in the backend, when I click OK on the popup (after I have uploaded an image) the main page "refresh" and the filled fields come back blank.

IE8 is not supported on OE 4.x (it is on OE 5.x, but that only works on eZ Publish 4.0 and higher). If you can't upgrade, try to use the compatibility view in IE8, it will make IE use the IE7 browser engine instead for the current webpage.
See: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2008/08/27/introducing-compatibility-view.aspxhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/960321
Basically click on the button to the left of the refresh button in the address bar when your on the page with OE4.x.
