I and a friend both tried to get ezpublish to run on local servers and couldn't get it to run.

I'm trying to follow the instructions to install it on my web host, but...wow these are really confusing. I'm technical, but the instructions are a little all over the place. Is there anyone that would be nice enough to jot down the instructions in a step by step manner? In short, explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old?

1. Click here, do this.

Welcome to the eZ Publish community.

Step One: be sure you meet the requirements here: http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_0/installation/normal_installation/requirements_for_doing_a_normal_installation

Step Two: Setup the database and user, point Apache to a directory where you will install eZ Publish, install the eZ Publish filesystem there, and start the installation wizard:

--> Unix/Linux: http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_0/installation/normal_installation/installing_ez_publish_on_a_linux_unix_based_system

--> Windows: http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_0/installation/normal_installation/installing_ez_publish_on_windows

Step Three: Go through the setup wizard: http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_0/installation/the_setup_wizard

Your basic installation is complete! If you have trouble, post it here for help.
