This is for your input and information, nothing more. Well, after wasting half a day on this issue, I figured out that PHP was embedded in a 4+ meg file in the Apache directory. Thanks, folks, for letting me know, and for replying "promptly" to my prior post. I really appreciate it, since it tells me a whole lot about suport of the product. I wasn't interested in the Community version, only the paid/support one, so you folks lose on that one too. The other part of my time wasting was finding out that if one ever pushes the "fine-tuning" button while setting up the "all-in-one" installation for evaluation purposes, the install script has *significant* logic flaws and misleads the user through a series of spurious error messages, including asking for the database use name and password (and not accepting whatever is input) ... something not presented in a "don't push the fine-tuning button" implementation. I finally managed to get through setup and to access the test site ... boy, what a bummer of a front page for the demo ... or maybe my install just went astray again! Even got into the admin side to take a look. Then I rebooted the test server and I could never get the site to work again! Yes, started apache, etc., but mysql wouldn't start. I figure if there are these types of problems on a pre-sales evaluation, the post-sales product and support is going to be even worse. So, thanks but no thanks about your product. Lest you think me a complete newbie, I've spent 40+ years in the IS/IT/IM (whatever it's called) field, operated computer systems, programmed them, managed IS departments, whole divisions (e.g., +250 programmers), done 15 years of consulting, turned around IS operations & server environments, operated 3 websites out of my home, and whatnot. So I'm really p****d about the quality of eZ Publish and how much of my time has been wasted by sloppy scripting and quality control. Wordpress, Joomla, Bricolage, Scoop, Cofax and whatnot are a breeze to evaluate compared to eZ Publish.
