Hi there,

I hope someone can help me if possible.

One of our clients accidently deleted whole "Files" folder from the Media Library which contain about 1500 files(PDF's, Doc files) . All the files were being used by some articles and folders. Is there any easy way to restore all the files in one go.

Please help.

Thanks

Smith

No easy way I'm afraid, so the normal way to do it is to restore one and one node at a time from the root and deeper in the thrashed tree.
But some information on the original placement is preserved at least in 3.9 and higher. So it might be possible to write a script that restores the content recursively (from root to leaf).

Hi Andre,

Thanks for your swift reply. Would it be possible to know when the client has deleted that folder and files inside in it, any sort of logs.

I have seen all the files a week ago.

It will be quite useful.

cheers

3.9 introduces Audit trailing, you can read more about it here:
http://pubsvn.ez.no/nextgen/stable/3.9/doc/features/3.9/audit_trailing.txt

But I would anyway recommend that you restrict access to delete folders (or what other class you use to define the structure of your site)..
