Hi,
Has anybody already imported an existing database in ezpublish?
We've just done that and we had real problems.
Firs tof all, the database structure available in the docs is not up to date.
Plus, we had to find what data was inserted in what table.
But the main problem seems to be the indexation. Apparently, the dat we inserted is not searched by the internal search engine because we did not use the ez publish interface of course but a script we wrote for the occasion.

Does anaybody have successfully imported a complete (and wuite complex) database ?

Thansk for your help !

Francis.

Hi

I have tried myself by using automatically post to my EZ site. That is an script which fetches data from the source database and makes post requsts to the EZ site to import into. However, I did not get EZ to accept the data fully (objects were created without any data at all). I did this because I belive that it would be the best way as it would most likely if succsesfull mean that EZ got the data the way it wanted it.

Cheers

all right.

But do you know where we could find an up to date database structure + a guide to the different tables and their function.

I've asked the eZ crew about this in another topic :)

Hope they have this information available. Would be a great help!

Hi

I have sent you my procedure. If anyone else want it then send me an email (tore@grunderskolen.no). But it is NOT working and there is no docs. But it could make a nice start for anyone trying to do the same.

Cheers
