Hello, The var directory has some directories (created for contents) that assume as their names accented words (the site, in Spanish has lost of classes with accented names) as this is usual I would like no to assume the same for directories due to incompatible issues that could arise in the future in different environments. Any ideas, thanks

What do you mean exactly... Classes are "created" in the database and can have accents, etc eZ Publish creates in the var directory subdirectories for versioning of the images, etc using the name of the image and content tree, but it corrects the letters that could be an issue. For example an image with the name "Imágen de un sueño" would be created inside the var directory as "Imagen_de_un_sueno"...

Thanks, I must have something wrong, some images are not created with al it's aliases (defined at the image.ini of my siteaccess), the debug says that the original one is missing, something that is not true, so I went out to the "var" to see what was happening, I found some strange names for directories. So I am trying to make some investigation to see if I get to the bottom of the problem. When I add a folder in the admin named: "Artículos de mesa" it shows as a folder in the var directory as "artìculos-de-mesa", "Animación" turns out like "animación" (I really do not know if this example will be shown correctly here in the forum, but the idea is that directories are having characters not common to what they should have). I just have run all clear-cache that I know of, even the updatecache extension. Any ideas, gracias.

Hi Jorge, What version of ezp are you using? What server os? Check that in image.ini there is no error or accents... I'm sure ezp 4.x has this conversion "feature", I also have checked a 3.9 install and it also converts the accents...

Hello It was strange because my site was working just fine, I have found out that the names scrambled with strange characters are those of the diretories generated by an extension that uploads multiple files (coolzipimport), so I will check first if I am right before continuing writing (saving your time and mine), thanks, I will come back again. By the way I am using ez 3.10 thanks!

Hi Jorge, first of all, as I wrote you in personal email at mid of September for 250,000 images better use a not browser based solution. There is a time out and upload limit. Use:
On command line (php-cli).
Björns import framework XML http://projects.ez.no/import
or Philipps data import XML http://projects.ez.no/data_import
and CSV: http://svn.ez.no/svn/extensions/csv/
and more info in the thread: http://ez.no/developer/forum/developer/fantastic_csv_import_extension_who_owns_it/ But, since this extension uses standard eZ functions for image handling, and in German, there are many Umlaute like öäüÖÄÜß and it works in produktion use, there is something wrong with your installation.
